Spiritual Vitality
We believe that healthy community depends on a respect for each other’s boundaries and convictions. We accept and acknowledge that our faith and interpretation of scripture may differ from one member to another. We respect each person’s right to follow their own convictions and commitments to God as revealed to us. Each member of the community has equal standing with every other member.
Within our community there is no formal spiritual hierarchy or spiritual authority. We are free to share and express our individual faith but we do not impose our own convictions on others. Community members are free to develop relationships of many kinds. Mentoring, spiritual parenting or discipleship relationships may be entered into, but only by the mutual consent of the parties. These relationships are never assumed. As a community we use consensus and mediation to address community issues and conflicts – out of respect for our diversity and our differing spiritual values and biblical perspectives.
