The common house is an unfolding blessing. It was the scene of our first regular common meal (shown here) as well as various celebrations*, a monthly
Taizé service, organized meals, potlucks, and other community events – large and small, planned and unplanned. One of our members has organized a monthly meal and get-together for local singles. The kid’s play room recently received an influx of really cool toys, and we’re finding new and exciting uses for the other rooms we’ve built. The library has proven to be a godsend for quiet, impromptu gatherings and prayer meetings.
We have also received several wonderful community-building gifts, including a greenhouse (not yet built, but hopefully done in time for the colder weather). We also have some new chairs for a casual outdoor gathering point, a major “digging area” for kids and a ping-pong table. The kid’s playhouse has been moved to its new location (literally on the pond, with a rope bridge to get there), and we’re trying to figure out how to best use the existing barn.
